Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a fiery address at a meeting of leaders from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation group in Ankara over the weekend, demanding that they join together in a united effort against Israel on all fronts. Claiming that Israel is attacking the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the Old City of Jerusalem, Erdogan thundered that "It is unthinkable for the OIC, whose duty is to take care of the Jerusalem cause, to remain indifferent to these attacks. It is urgent that the organization convenes at the leadership level without losing more time."
He also said he is planning to press charges against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague in regard to teh death of Turkish-American woman, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who died under disputed circumstances at a demonstration near the city of Nablus, north of Jerusalem, last week.
"We will take every legal step for her blood not to remain on the ground," Erdogan said. "The genocide-committing Israeli leadership will absolutely be held accountable for the crimes it has committed."
