IDF reports on Tuesday morning indicated that more than 65 rockets had been fired into the Galilee region, including a barrage that was aimed in the vicinity of Haifa. At least one Israeli civilian was reportedly wounded by shrapnel from a rocket and damage to buildings was reported in the community of Kiryat Shmona. A large fire was also ignited in a wooded area close to Kiryat Shmona and firefighting teams were on the scene battling the flames.
Sirens in the lower Galilee were also heard later in the morning and residents are being instructed to remain close to a sheltered space.
Meanwhile, images appearing on social media appear to show a continuing rush by residents of southern and eastern Lebanon to flee further north amidst the deteriorating situation.
Israel has made great efforts to warn the civilian population to get away from areas where Hezbollah has set up firing positions, stored weapons or otherwise deployed the means to attack Israel, as the IDF is obliged to destroy these sites.
