In a significant military operation on Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) entered the Litani River area in southern Lebanon for the first time in over two decades. The operation followed intelligence reports that identified numerous Hezbollah terror infrastructures hidden in the region. During the mission, IDF soldiers carried out raids, engaged in close-quarters combat, and destroyed dozens of rocket launchers and missiles, along with weapons storage facilities concealed in the mountainsides.

The IDF also conducted operations in the Saluki area of southern Lebanon, seizing weapons and dozens of rocket launchers that were primed for use. These moves are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle Hezbollah's military capabilities along Israel’s northern border.

In parallel, the Israel Air Force (IAF) carried out airstrikes on six Hezbollah targets in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh, including a coast-to-sea missile unit and command centers. The military emphasized that Hezbollah has intentionally embedded its command centers within civilian areas, using the Lebanese population as human shields. In response, the IDF issued evacuation warnings for nearby buildings, urging civilians to leave for their safety.

The IDF's air campaign against Hezbollah has intensified, with 30 additional targets hit in Dahiyeh this week alone. Further, the IAF successfully eliminated Hezbollah commander Ahmad Sabhi Hazima in the Tyre area. Hazima, who was the head of Hezbollah’s coastal sector operations, had orchestrated several terror attacks targeting northern Israel, including infiltration attempts and anti-tank missile strikes.

The elimination of Hazima is seen as a significant blow to Hezbollah's operational capabilities, further hindering its ability to launch attacks from southern Lebanon.
