Iran is reportedly planning a complex attack on Israel that may involve missiles equipped with high-powered warheads. This information comes from a Wall Street Journal report published on Monday, citing Arab and Iranian officials familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the Iranian army is expected to be directly involved in this potential offensive. An Iranian official was quoted saying, "Our military lost people, so they need to respond." The official added that the planned attack would likely focus on Israeli military targets and be more aggressive than previous actions. The response is anticipated to occur after the U.S. elections but before the inauguration of a new president in January.

On Sunday, Al Arabiya reported that Iranian forces are positioned to strike Israel in retaliation for Israel's strikes last month. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued threats against Israel, promising a "crushing response" to its October operations.

Israel's Retaliatory Strike

In late October, Israel launched Operation Days of Repentance, during which the Israeli Air Force conducted three waves of strikes targeting approximately 20 military sites in Iran. The purpose of these attacks was to damage Iran's air defenses and hinder its long-term ability to produce ballistic missiles.

Israel had vowed to respond to Iran's October 1 attack, during which the Islamic Republic reportedly fired around 180 ballistic missiles at Israel. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that this was in response to the alleged killing of Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah, an incident Israel has neither confirmed nor denied.

Prior to the October 1 incident, Iran last attacked Israel on April 14, launching approximately 300 aerial threats toward the Jewish state.

Execution of Iranian Jewish Man Raises Human Rights Concerns

In a separate development, Iranian authorities executed Arvin Nathaniel Ghahremani, a 20-year-old Iranian Jewish man, on Monday morning. The execution was reported by Iran Human Rights, a non-governmental organization monitoring executions in Iran, and Israeli media outlets.

Ghahremani was arrested at the age of 18 on murder charges related to the death of Amir Shokri, who died following a street fight two years prior. Advocates had petitioned for a retrial, but the request was rejected. According to documents obtained by the New York Post, Ghahremani was reportedly ambushed outside a gym by Shokri and seven other men and acted in self-defense.

He was sentenced to "qisas," a form of retributive justice under Sharia law, where the victim's family has the power to forgive the accused and spare them from execution. Despite efforts, the family did not grant clemency.

Arrest of Iranian Student Highlights Ongoing Tensions

In a related story, amnesty International has called for the immediate release of a young woman arrested after she removed most of her clothing during an apparent protest against harassment outside her university in Tehran on November 2. Video footage of the incident was initially shared by the Amir Kabir newsletter and later circulated by the Hengaw rights group and Amnesty International.

In a statement, Amnesty International urged Iranian authorities to protect the student from torture and other ill-treatment and to ensure she has access to legal representation and contact with her family. They also called for independent and impartial investigations into allegations of beatings and sexual violence during her arrest, emphasizing that those responsible must be held accountable.
