Iran has recently intensified its rhetoric and military advancements, signaling a robust response to growing regional tensions, particularly with Israel. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stated on Monday that Iran is at an “extremely high level” when it comes to countering hard warfare threats. Iran's nuclear program remains at the center of international discourse, with the country's foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei reaffirming on Monday that Iran would not back down in defending its nuclear ambitions.

The growing tensions are highlighted by Iran’s increasing military prowess, particularly its naval expansion. Iran’s new aircraft carrier, the Shahid Bagheri, launched recently, has raised significant concern. Aircraft carriers are pivotal for global military influence, and Iran's development of such a vessel signals its intent to project power in the region. This new development could alter the balance of military power in the Middle East, which has already been volatile.

Additionally, Brig.-Gen. Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), indicated that the next phase of Iran's military operations, dubbed "True Promise 3," will occur at the "appropriate time." This follows earlier operations in 2024, which targeted Israel with minimal impact. However, both of these previous strikes have been met with swift Israeli retaliation.

Israel, which has been actively countering Iranian influence in the region, including through strikes on Iranian military installations, has vowed to continue its actions against Iran. These retaliations have included targeting nuclear enrichment facilities in Iran and missile bases in Syria.

While Iran's threats of a "strong and complex" response continue to loom, it remains unclear what specific form Operation True Promise 3 will take. Iran has warned that the next operation will not be limited to missile attacks, heightening fears of broader conflict.

In addition, recent geopolitical shifts have further complicated Iran’s position. With the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria—an Iranian ally—Iran has seen its influence in the region wane. These events leave Iran with fewer strategic options to act against Israel, intensifying the stakes in an already fragile environment.
