The Israel Defense Ministry has announced a significant acquisition of advanced drones and autonomous systems from Elbit Systems Ltd. This new procurement is expected to enhance the operational capabilities of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), enabling them to improve intelligence gathering and precision strikes on the ground.

Developed in collaboration with the Directorate of Defense Research & Development (DDR&D) and the IDF Ground Forces, these systems are designed to offer cutting-edge technology for surveillance and targeted operations. The systems include drones tailored for both reconnaissance and strike missions, as well as smaller drones for urban environments.

Brigadier-General Yehuda Elmakias, head of the DDR&D's Research and Development unit, highlighted that drones provide a cost-effective, scalable, and precise method for executing critical reconnaissance and attack missions. This move reflects Israel’s commitment to staying at the forefront of military technology.

Haim Delmar, Executive Vice President of Elbit's C4I Systems and Cyber division, emphasized that this contract demonstrates growing confidence in Elbit’s innovations, particularly in robotics and autonomous systems (RAS). These advanced systems are designed to increase operational control on the battlefield, ensuring the security of Israel’s forces.
