On Friday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the successful elimination of Alkaman Abed Elslam Khalil Anbar, a senior operative in the *Palestinian Islamic Jihad's Gaza City Brigade*. Anbar, who was responsible for directing rocket fire toward Israeli territory, was eliminated in a targeted strike by the Israeli Air Force.
According to the IDF, Anbar played a significant role in both coordinating rocket attacks and in the manufacturing of weapons for the Gaza-based terror group. His position in the Islamic Jihad's Gaza City Brigade made him a key figure in the ongoing hostilities between the two sides. The operation that led to his death was conducted based on intelligence gathered by the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet), which also helped identify and eliminate other Islamic Jihad operatives firing rockets at Israeli forces during the same strike.
The targeted assassination of Anbar is part of Israel's broader ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip. Since Thursday, the IDF has been conducting strikes in various locations, including Jabalya, *Beit Lahia, and Rafah. These operations, aimed at weakening terrorist infrastructure, have resulted in the discovery and destruction of large quantities of weapons, including explosive devices, **machine guns*, and other military equipment used by Palestinian terror groups.
The IDF continues its efforts to degrade the capabilities of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other factions operating in Gaza, aiming to reduce the threat posed by rocket fire and attacks against Israeli civilian and military targets.
