The IDF has launched a new wave of strikes in Lebanon as it enters the third day of Operation "Northern Arrows." Since early this morning, around 100 Hezbollah targets have been hit, with more strikes planned throughout the day. The main focus is on neutralizing Hezbollah's strategic weaponry, particularly its heavy rockets and long-range missiles.
Operation Goals: Disrupting Hezbollah’s Strategic Capabilities
Over the past 48 hours, the IDF has been executing attacks aimed at crippling Hezbollah’s strategic missile systems, which include heavy rockets and precision long-range missiles. The intent is twofold: to strip Hezbollah of its ability to conduct long-range strikes into Israel's heartland and to weaken its overall operational capacity.
On the first day of Operation "Northern Arrows," the IDF targeted over 1,600 objectives in Lebanon, with 400 more hit in the last 24 hours. This methodical operation will continue in phases, with the military adhering to pre-determined plans based on intelligence assessments.
Strategic Shifts in Hezbollah's Arsenal
Yesterday, the IDF confirmed the elimination of Ibrahim Mohammad Qabisi, the head of Hezbollah’s missile and rocket units, in a targeted strike in Dahieh, the southern suburb of Beirut known as Hezbollah's stronghold. Six other operatives were killed, and an additional 15 were wounded in this successful strike.
Rocket Attacks and Interceptions: Rising Tensions
This morning, sirens wailed across central Israel, including the Gush Dan and Sharon areas, following the detection of a rocket launched from Lebanon. The projectile was intercepted by the David’s Sling air defense system, preventing any casualties or damage.
At around 9:07 AM, a heavy barrage was fired toward the Carmel region, Wadi Ara, and Menashe, marking the first time sirens were activated in Zichron Yaakov since the conflict began. Later, a drone launched from Syria was intercepted over the Golan Heights, with responsibility claimed by Shiite militias in Iraq.
The IDF is actively expanding its operations in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, with the intention of systematically dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure and long-range missile capabilities. In parallel, Hezbollah’s attempts to target northern Israel with a barrage of 60 rockets resulted in a direct hit on a home in Safed.
Stay tuned with TBN Israel for ongoing updates as the operation progresses and as the IDF continues to adapt to the evolving situation in Lebanon.
