The Palestinian Authority (PA) remains firm in its stance to take full control of the Gaza Strip, excluding Hamas from governance. According to an Egyptian source with direct knowledge of the ongoing discussions, the PA has been in active communication with the incoming Trump administration on this issue, seeking international support for its position.

Egypt, acting as a mediator, has been holding talks between the PA and Hamas in an attempt to reach an agreement on how Gaza should be managed after the war. However, the Egyptian efforts have reportedly not succeeded in convincing the PA to form a joint committee with Hamas, a stance driven by deep mistrust of the terrorist group. The PA's reluctance stems from concerns over Hamas's actions in destabilizing the West Bank, further complicating efforts to restore stability in the region.

In parallel, US officials have revealed that Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to present his post-conflict plan for Gaza, which will likely involve an alternative to Hamas’s rule. This proposal would incorporate the Palestinian Authority's role alongside Arab states, seeking to replace Hamas’s leadership in Gaza.

The discussions over Gaza’s future governance highlight the complex political dynamics at play, with the PA's reluctance to work with Hamas further intensifying the challenge of rebuilding the region and restoring order.
