Although there are still over two years left in the term of the current Knesset, there are many analysts who believe elections will be held earlier than that, possibly as soon as the Spring of 2025. Polls published this week by the highly respected Kantar Institute think tank showed that National Unity leader MK Benny Gantz is considered the most suitable candidate to be the next Prime Minister of Isreal by a majority of voters.
Other centrist parties including Yesh Atid and Yisrael Beytenu are also shown as gaining support in these polls, while the Likud Party led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slipping although it still has a large amount of support.
Some of the smaller parties in the current Knesset have seen their support drop considerably, while others have held steady or made slight gains.
