The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed a terrorist ramming attack at the al Fawar Junction on Saturday evening that left four people wounded. The assailant drove a vehicle into several individuals, prompting shots to be fired at the vehicle as part of the response.

A joint manhunt by the IDF, police, and Shin Bet ensued, leading to the terrorist’s surrender after fleeing to the nearby village of Dura. According to authorities, the terrorist was captured by security forces after attempting to escape.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) later claimed responsibility for the attack, issuing a statement that described the assault as a show of "resistance" against Israel. The statement hailed the terrorist act as an act of defiance against what it described as "fascist and Nazi practices" and Israel’s occupation.

Among the wounded was an IDF soldier in his 30s, who sustained severe injuries to his limbs. He was rushed to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba for treatment, and his family has been notified. Additionally, a 45-year-old man was lightly injured in the attack and evacuated to Soroka Hospital for treatment. Magen David Adom (MDA) also reported that other individuals who were in the vehicle targeted by the ramming continued driving until they met with medical teams. Two other people, including a child, were treated on-site for anxiety.
