In another defeat for the campaign to Boycott, Divest and Sanction (BDS) Israel, the Dangoor Foundation, in collaboration with the UK-Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy in Israel, announced the launch of the Dangoor Health-Tech Academy on Tuesday. This pioneering program aims to introduce advanced Israeli health technologies to the UK, focusing on the potential for transformative healthcare improvements across Britain.
Bridging the Israel-UK Healthcare Innovation Gap
The academy’s primary mission is to integrate innovative Israeli solutions into the UK healthcare system by forming strategic alliances with healthcare organizations like the NHS. Participating Israeli startups will gain in-depth knowledge of the UK healthcare landscape, including regulatory requirements, R&D practices, and trial processes. This will enable the startups to develop solutions that are compatible with UK systems, ultimately improving patient care.
Selected participants will join an eight-week educational journey, encompassing online and in-person experiences in both Israel and the UK. These sessions will expose participants to the unique aspects of the NHS and connect them with industry mentors, setting the stage for impactful partnerships.
The program concludes with a three-day delegation visit to London, offering startups a chance to deepen relationships with NHS and private healthcare providers. According to Simon Walters, the British Ambassador to Israel, this initiative symbolizes the robust tech ties between the UK and Israel, and underscores the UK’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge solutions to advance healthcare.
Keren Shurkin, Director of the UK-Israel Tech Hub, emphasized the impact Israeli technology has already made within NHS systems. “The innovation from Israeli companies has led to multi-site trials and significant partnerships, advancing care in fields like rehabilitation, therapeutics, and surgery. This academy will further drive advancements in healthcare operations and outcomes.”
The Dangoor Health-Tech Academy, founded by the Dangoor family, embodies a mission to foster Israel-UK collaborations that will enhance healthcare practices and patient experiences across the UK.
