The Long Arm of Justice: Ibrahim Aqil, Hezbollah's Mastermind, Finally Eliminated

Reading time: 3 minutes
The end came this weekend for Ibrahim Aqil, one of Hezbollah's most notorious terrorists and the architect of numerous attacks against Israel and the US. Aqil was responsible for the deaths of over 350 people, including the 1983 attacks on the US Embassy in Beirut and the US Marine Barracks, which killed 241 American servicemen and 58 French soldiers.
For four decades, Aqil eluded justice, living freely despite the blood of hundreds on his hands. The US had placed a $7 million bounty on his head, but it was Israel that finally closed this dark chapter.
Survivors and families of those lost expressed a sense of closure. Alice Camara, who lost her brother in the Marine barracks attack, said, "Justice has been done. It's one less evil in the world." Valerie Giblin, who lost her husband, responded to the news with, "It’s about time."
Ibrahim Aqil’s death serves as a stark reminder: Terrorists may hide, but they cannot escape justice forever. As one survivor put it, "The memory of Israel and America is long, and we never forget."
