The United States military carried out precision strikes in Syria on Monday, eliminating 12 ISIS terrorists, according to a report from US Central Command (CENTCOM). The strikes targeted ISIS leaders, operatives, and camps, aiming to disrupt and degrade the terrorist group's activities in the region. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to prevent ISIS from carrying out external operations and to ensure the group does not regain strength in central Syria.
CENTCOM emphasized that the airstrikes took place in areas previously controlled by the Syrian regime and Russia, applying continued pressure on ISIS. The strikes were successful with no civilian casualties reported.
General Michael Erik Kurilla, head of CENTCOM, affirmed the military's commitment to preventing the resurgence of ISIS in Syria. "Working with our allies and partners, we will not allow ISIS to reconstitute and take advantage of the current situation," he said.
General Kurilla had visited US military commanders and Syrian Democratic Forces personnel in Syria last week, where he was briefed on measures being taken to counter the threat of ISIS in the region.
