On Friday morning, the IDF confirmed that the remains released on Thursday by Hamas belonged to two of the Bibas family members: Ariel and Kfir Bibas. However, the third body was identified as anonymous, and forensic testing confirmed that it did not belong to Shiri Bibas, the mother of the deceased children. This revelation marks a grave violation of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, as it was agreed that Hamas would return the bodies of four hostages, including Shiri Bibas.

The IDF condemned Hamas for this violation, demanding that Shiri be returned along with the rest of the hostages. The military confirmed that forensic officials had carefully tested the body and ensured it was not that of Shiri Bibas. Ariel and Kfir, tragically murdered in captivity, were part of a list of hostages to be released, but it was only on Tuesday that it was confirmed they had been killed in captivity in November 2023.

This deceit by Hamas continues to shock the international community, and various leaders and organizations have expressed their outrage. US Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs, Adam Boehler, called Hamas’s actions “horrific,” emphasizing that the terrorist group is violating the ceasefire. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also condemned the violation, stating that the only solution to the ongoing terror is the destruction of Hamas.

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, shared his horror over Hamas's actions, calling the group's behavior “a new low.” He demanded that the international community take a firm stance against Hamas’s atrocities, urging the UN to unequivocally condemn the crime. Global leaders and Jewish organizations joined in their condemnation, with the Argentine President's office declaring a national mourning period for Ariel and Kfir Bibas.

The Bibas family has suffered tremendously. Yarden Bibas, the father, who was released by Hamas in February, now faces the unimaginable loss of his wife and children. His family was held captive for months, and the horrific truth of the murders is now painfully evident.

The international outcry is growing louder, with various organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League, the Orthodox Union, and AIPAC demanding justice for the Bibas family. The cruelty exhibited by Hamas has left a lasting scar on Israel and the world, and as the search for Shiri Bibas continues, the demand for justice only intensifies.
