Israel's Tourism Ministry, under the leadership of Tourism Minister Haim Katz, announced an investment of NIS 230 million to fund 55 tourism projects throughout the country. These projects aim to enhance Israel's tourism infrastructure and improve the visitor experience, which includes building heritage centers, parks, biking trails, and more.

In a statement, Minister Katz emphasized the ministry's ongoing efforts to balance urgent needs with long-term plans. “Alongside the responsibility we took upon ourselves to address the needs of 130,000 evacuees, we have continued to plan for the ‘day after’ while establishing and upgrading infrastructure to improve the visitor and tourist experience," he said.

A key component of the funding will be directed toward Judea and Samaria, the biblical heartland of Israel. The ministry will invest in projects that highlight the rich Jewish history of the region, making it more accessible to tourists. Minister Katz pointed out that the investment will unlock the region's tourism potential, boosting its global appeal.

The Tourism Ministry evaluated the proposals based on several criteria, including their ability to attract both local and international visitors, their proximity to accommodations, and their alignment with the ministry’s policies. Other factors considered were the local authority’s ability to maintain the projects and their potential to enhance the overall tourism experience.
